San Francisco’s 1958 "Cyclone" Bus Duster [Past Perfect]

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

The 1950's were perhaps the peak of American Culture. The Post-War economy was booming and a future of flying cars driven by robot housemaids was all but guaranteed. On the West Coast, one local transit authority even had a bus for cleaning other busses. More »

Gadget Writers: Stop Saying "Feels Good In the Hand" [Gadgets]

Monday, March 5th, 2012

We use gadgets with our hands, so I suppose it's only natural that gadget reviewers are constantly evaluating whether or not a particular gadget "feels good in the hand." Fair enough, but it's a terrible, awkward phrase to read or write. And it's been done to death. Our friends at FWD compiled fifty instances of the faux pas; luckily, we seem only to be guilty of one. And hey, at least we didn't call it sexy. [FWD] More »

Samsung: "Honestly, we’re not doing very well in the tablet market" [Blockquote]

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Despite having a monstrously large range of tablets on offer, Samsung has never quite captured the market in the way it would like to. Its sales clearly lag well behind the iPad and the Kindle Fire—and it seems they're happy to admit it. More »

Korea: Keep Your Terrible "Phablets" To Yourselves [Horror]

Monday, February 20th, 2012

LG's Vu is offensive in virtually every way that an object can offend. It's called the "Vu," it has an abhorrent 4:3 screen, and, as BGR has loathsomely coined, it's a "phablet". Let it never leave Korean gadget hell. More »

New, Targeted Mouthwash Could Eliminate Tooth Decay "Within Our Lifetimes" [Medicine]

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

A single species of bacteria is responsible for tooth decay. But until now, mouthwash has worked by sterilizing your maw wholesale. But why go Death Star v. Alderaan on it when you could just kill off that one bad species? This is exactly what Colgate has done and the result could mean an end to cavities—forever. More »

Watch a Massively Powerful "Walkback" Slingshot Shoot Cannonball-Sized Ammo [Video]

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

We've got a big ol' crush on slingshot master Joerg Sprave, but for all his rubbery kinetic might, there comes a point when the maximum power of a slingshot maxes out. That is, unless you're such a huge badass you use trees for slingshots. More »

This 23" HP Monitor Is Your I-Like-It-Big Deal of the Day [Dealzmodo]

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

I love Thanksgiving. Turkey. Cranberry Sauce. Stuffing. Everything and anything at dinner, to be honest. I love the colors. Orange, brown, it's perfect for that fall spirit. I love football, there's no other holiday associated with sports as much as Thanksgiving is. I love playing football, it's the only time I put on cleats any more. I love seeing old friends and getting drunk and reminiscing about old stories because everyone is back in town again. I love how the work week is cut in half (and really, cut even more because everyone checks out by tuesday) because of Thanksgiving. More »
